Line the bottom and sides of a high sided bowl (about 500ml capacity) with the slices of bread, reserving some for the top. Add the berries in the syrup and cover with the remaining bread. Lightly press the bread down with a plate, weigh the plate down and cool the pudding in the refrigerator overnight or for approximately 4 hours.
