2022 Canstar Blue’s Awards: Four Square’s customers are most satisfied amongst New Zealand supermarket shoppers

Four Square have come out on top for Overall Satisfaction in the supermarkets category of the 2022 Canstar Blue’s Awards. It’s the first time Four Square has won the accolade in the history of the prestigious awards, set up in 2011 to help New Zealanders make better purchasing decisions through customer-based research.  

To determine Four Square as the overall winner of the supermarket category, Canstar asked 1900 New Zealanders who’ve made a supermarket purchase in the past six months, a list of questions to measure and track their satisfaction levels.   

Foodstuffs stores, Four Square, PAK’nSAVE and New World, took out the top three spots for Overall Satisfaction in the supermarket category. 

Four Square scored particularly highly on ‘excellent customer service’ and ‘accessibility of staff’, which contributed to their overall win of the category. PAK’nSAVE scored highly on value for money and deals and specials available, and New World for ‘customer service’, ‘layout and presentation of the store’, ‘food freshness’ and ‘variety of products’.

Four Square won five stars in the all-important category of 'Overall Satisfaction', along with five stars for customer service. This is an endorsement of its approach during a time its workforce and operations were under great strain. We congratulate them for their success."
